Spectators: 7231 (Terracing: 5425, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) Merinos's Sedat Kemalettin started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Sedat Kemalettin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Sedat Kemalettin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Merinos's supporters rose to their feet, but Sedat Kemalettin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Birol Hazer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Birol Hazer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sercan Üçok in the 13th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Merinos's Arman Ulun got a free kick in the 16th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sercan Üçok in the 18th minute of play forced Unkapani's goalkeeper Birol Hazer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mustafa Ali Tümenbay in the 21st minute of play forced Merinos's goalkeeper Ergin İşçen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sedat Kemalettin took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Birol Hazer. Birol Hazer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Sercan Üçok received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Birol Hazer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Unkapani booed when Merinos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sedat Kemalettin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sercan Üçok sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute Sedat Kemalettin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Birol Hazer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Unkapani's goal looked a bit too open when Sedat Kemalettin came free, but Birol Hazer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ersin Tülün struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Birol Hazer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merinos. In the 40th minute, Tayyip Eğriöz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Unkapani's Nuralp Serkan tried to score from far away in the 41st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Birol Hazer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sedat Kemalettin, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Merinos were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mustafa Ali Tümenbay made a kick off. Sedat Kemalettin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Birol Hazer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Unkapani getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Abdi Bintuğ hit a great ball. When Sedat Kemalettin came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Merinos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sedat Kemalettin couldn't finish the play. Sercan Üçok's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Birol Hazer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. The supporters of Merinos booed when Unkapani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuralp Serkan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Merinos's Ergin İşçen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mustafa Ali Tümenbay in the 74th minute of play. When Ersin Tülün fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Merinos's protests and gave Ersin Tülün a yellow card for diving instead. Ersin Tülün kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Merinos's Sedat Kemalettin was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 80th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 84th match minute, Unkapani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ahmet Korkut Hayırlı to maneuver through the defense. 85 minutes into the match, Merinos's İsmail Öktemer broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Sercan Üçok recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sedat Kemalettin in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Birol Hazer saved Unkapani from getting behind. Birol Hazer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sedat Kemalettin, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Merinos's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
