After a defensive mix-up in Vardar's zone, Mevlüt Temel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aycan Yorgun came out of the goal and Mevlüt Temel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of mavi şimşek booed when Vardar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yusuf Akhan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Hasan Ali Benlioğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot. mavi şimşek's supporters rose to their feet, but Hasan Ali Benlioğlu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aycan Yorgun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hasan Ali Benlioğlu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Ali Numan Sabancı sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 70th minute Ahmet Kağan Saffet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faruk Nafiz Okatay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ali Numan Sabancı got in the 74th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Aycan Yorgun handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Aycan Yorgun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hasan Ali Benlioğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. If Ali Numan Sabancı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ali Numan Sabancı in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aycan Yorgun prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vardar's Aycan Yorgun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hasan Ali Benlioğlu in the 86th minute of play. Aycan Yorgun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ali Numan Sabancı in the 88th minute of play.
