The referee showed Ronaldo Messi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ronaldo Messi hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. 27 minutes in the game, Ersan Vargın fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Arthur de Alcântara having to interfere. Ronaldo Messi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vahap Hürsel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Nurhak's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Messi came free, but Vahap Hürsel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronaldo Messi got his second yellow card in the match during the 36th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ersan Vargın stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tolga Gümüşcüoğlu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vahap Hürsel having to make a save. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Göztepe had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
