Abdulbaki Cingöz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmet Koralp Kulan in the 15th minute of the match. With his leg Ünsal Çakman managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Malmö FC's Hüseyin Cahit İlkim fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 29th minute, Mehmet Osman Haşmetli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes into the match, Esentepe's goal looked a bit too open when Ömer Rıdvan came free, but Ünsal Çakman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Ahmet Koralp Kulan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Abdulbaki Cingöz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee gave Esentepe a penalty, 38 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rafettin Balyemez, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Malmö FC's Abdulbaki Cingöz. 0-4. In the 44th minute, Şanver Betim left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Esentepe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ömer Rıdvan to make the kick off. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ünsal Çakman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Ahmet Koralp Kulan came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Esentepe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ahmet Koralp Kulan couldn't finish the play. In the 64th minute Ahmet Koralp Kulan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdulbaki Cingöz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Şanver Betim came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Esentepe fans jumped to their feet.
