Başaran Sancaktar charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Başaran Sancaktar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to TuRKiYe getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Başaran Sancaktar hit a great ball. Abdulbaki Cingöz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mehmet Bedri Oktan went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ömer Rıdvan in the 25th minute of play forced TuRKiYe's goalkeeper Sinan Ceri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the game, Gencal Uyaralp was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Malmö FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave TuRKiYe the free kick. In the 34thth minute of the game Mehmet Bedri Oktan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Malmö FC's Abdulbaki Cingöz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Malmö FC's goalkeeper Abdulbaki Cingöz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of TuRKiYe booed when Malmö FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ahmet Turan Semim didn't get a good kick on the ball. TuRKiYe's Mehmet Bedri Oktan got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Malmö FC's Abdulbaki Cingöz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Başaran Sancaktar in the 42nd minute of play. Mehmet Bedri Oktan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 47 minutes into the game, Mehmet Bedri Oktan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Abdulbaki Cingöz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half TuRKiYe were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ömer Rıdvan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mustafa Namık Yalçıner's late challenge caught a Malmö FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mustafa Namık Yalçıner helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, TuRKiYe's Mustafa Namık Yalçıner got a free kick in the 56th minute. Abdulbaki Cingöz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mehmet Bedri Oktan in the 58th minute of the match. In the 59th minute, Başaran Sancaktar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Başaran Sancaktar kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Abdulbaki Cingöz. That made the score 1-4 in the 64 minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Müfit Zihni during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Müfit Zihni hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute Alaaddin Sait suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. A collision led to TuRKiYe getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Müfit Zihni hit a great ball. Hüseyin Cahit İlkim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Sinan Ceri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in TuRKiYe's zone, Hüseyin Cahit İlkim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sinan Ceri came out of the goal and Hüseyin Cahit İlkim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mustafa Namık Yalçıner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mustafa Namık Yalçıner was shown his second yellow card after 83 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a defensive mix-up in Malmö FC's zone, Necmi Tarab stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abdulbaki Cingöz came out of the goal and Necmi Tarab tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abdulbaki Cingöz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mehmet Bedri Oktan in the 89th minute. When Başaran Sancaktar came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the TuRKiYe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Başaran Sancaktar couldn't finish the play. Mehmet Bedri Oktan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Abdulbaki Cingöz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Malmö FC defense, Mehmet Bedri Oktan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abdulbaki Cingöz. The Malmö FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abdulbaki Cingöz should have stopped the shot. The Malmö FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. TuRKiYe were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
