If Bilal Akağan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Akdagmadeni's zone, Feyyaz Özakın stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Halis Merih came out of the goal and Feyyaz Özakın tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Akdagmadeni's Halis Merih got control of the ball when Bilal Akağan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bilal Akağan might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Halis Merih. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bilal Akağan ran back to his position shaking his head. Halis Merih showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kutalp Özkurt, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After having played for 38 minutes, Dinçer Rıfkı managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Akdagmadeni's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dinçer Rıfkı was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bilal Akağan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Halis Merih tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bilal Akağan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Halis Merih when he managed to save the team from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kutalp Özkurt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Akdagmadeni's goal looked a bit too open when Kutalp Özkurt came free, but Halis Merih reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, KDZ.Ereğli's goal looked a bit too open when Dinçer Rıfkı came free, but Talip Elçi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kutalp Özkurt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Halis Merih having to make a save. Feyyaz Özakın scored 2-0 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Halis Merih, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Many of Akdagmadeni's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Akdagmadeni may have spent more time on the ball, but KDZ.Ereğli were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
