Güney Öksüz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karhan Kuyas in the 25th minute of the match. After 28 played minutes Malatyaspor got a freekick which was hit by Savaşer Ayaz. Ego's Güney Öksüz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aral Karan in the 38th minute of play. Güneri Eraltay kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Aral Karan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Güney Öksüz having to interfere. In the 47th minute Aral Karan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Güney Öksüz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aral Karan made a kick off. Malatyaspor's Karhan Kuyas got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Ego booed when Malatyaspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Refik Halit Lütufkâr didn't get a good kick on the ball.
