Bodrum's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Semavi Bilgehan in the 15th minute. The long shot by Gazanfer Özcan Rukni in the 22nd minute really tested Nejat Acunman's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The supporters of Bodrum booed when Merinos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ahmet Harun Semih didn't get a good kick on the ball. Semavi Bilgehan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Ahmet Göktuğ Yiğiter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Merinos's Ahmet Haşim Garipbaş got a free kick in the 37th minute. Bodrum's Barış Derman got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Semavi Bilgehan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nejat Acunman having to interfere. Faruk Nafiz Zirve shot from long distance in the 44th minute, but Nejat Acunman was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Merinos's Nejat Acunman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Semavi Bilgehan in the 46th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Kudret Saner made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Merinos's zone, Semavi Bilgehan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nejat Acunman came out of the goal and Semavi Bilgehan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58th minute Ahmet Göktuğ Yiğiter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nejat Acunman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tugay Sadan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nejat Acunman having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Ahmet Göktuğ Yiğiter had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. When Tansel Sehim fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Merinos's protests and gave Tansel Sehim a yellow card for diving instead. Bodrum made a substitution. Arkın Uçuk replaced Ahmet Göktuğ Yiğiter. After 65 played minutes Merinos got a freekick which was hit by Tansel Sehim. Nejat Acunman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Semavi Bilgehan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Behçet Suyurgal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Doğuş Tüney made a huge save. Bodrum's Doğuş Tüney proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Bodrum from getting a goal against them. 73 minutes into the match, Bodrum's goal looked a bit too open when Arın Hurmacı came free, but Doğuş Tüney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Merinos getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Ahmet Haşim Garipbaş hit a great ball. 80 minutes into the game, Barış Derman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Cezmi Aynacı sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bodrum's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
