Arın Hurmacı sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kudret Saner in the 22nd minute of play forced Akatlar SK's goalkeeper Kasım Tüzel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Akatlar SK's goal looked a bit too open when Kudret Saner came free, but Kasım Tüzel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nazım Rüştü sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Merinos booed when Akatlar SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cavit Yıldırım didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arif Nihat Harmanda in the 39th minute of play forced Akatlar SK's goalkeeper Kasım Tüzel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Behçet Suyurgal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ahmet Sedat Erentürk hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kudret Saner in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kasım Tüzel saved Akatlar SK from getting behind. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nazım Rüştü made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Akatlar SK's Özkan Cantez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nejat Acunman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee ignored Akatlar SK's protests and gave Nazım Rüştü a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 57 minutes, Kudret Saner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merinos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kudret Saner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kasım Tüzel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Behçet Suyurgal in the 66th minute of play. Kasım Tüzel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Behçet Suyurgal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Akatlar SK defense, Kudret Saner kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kasım Tüzel. The Akatlar SK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kasım Tüzel should have stopped the shot. Kasım Tüzel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Behçet Suyurgal in the 79th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Behçet Suyurgal in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kasım Tüzel saved Akatlar SK from getting behind. Kasım Tüzel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kudret Saner, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. If Behçet Suyurgal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
