Birecik SK's Akgün Ersan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sarp Derman in the 4th minute of play. Kadri As sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sarp Derman struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Akgün Ersan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kayserispor. Sarp Derman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Akgün Ersan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sarp Derman in the 27th minute of the match. Kadri As scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Akgün Ersan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Afşar Vahit during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Birecik SK getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Afşar Vahit hit a great ball. Cezmi Çakıroğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reşat Özerkin in the 37th minute of play. Refik Halit Uruç sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Sarp Derman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 44th minute of the match Nadir Yertan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cezmi Çakıroğlu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Kayserispor's Cezmi Çakıroğlu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Kayserispor from getting a goal against them. 46 minutes into the game, Erdoğan Rakim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kayserispor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Birecik SK the free kick. After a rather tough play, Kayserispor's Erdoğan Rakim got a free kick in the 46th minute. The Birecik SK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Kayserispor were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Haluk Orus to make the kick off. Haluk Orus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cezmi Çakıroğlu having to interfere. Cezmi Çakıroğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haluk Orus in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, one of Kayserispor:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Kayserispor. Cezmi Çakıroğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Refik Halit Uruç, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 71 minutes into the match, Kayserispor's goal looked a bit too open when Refik Halit Uruç came free, but Cezmi Çakıroğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sarp Derman in the 74th minute of play forced Birecik SK's goalkeeper Akgün Ersan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kadri As got free with Akgün Ersan in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 83 minutes into the game, one of Birecik SK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 85 minutes, Kayserispor's Celal Gagauz got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Akgün Ersan. Akgün Ersan made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Kadri As sent off a good shot on target. Sarp Derman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Akgün Ersan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute Refik Halit Uruç suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. 90 minutes into the game, Celal Gagauz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kayserispor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Birecik SK the free kick. Celal Gagauz hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Haluk Orus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Afşar Vahit struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Cezmi Çakıroğlu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Birecik SK. Cezmi Çakıroğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haluk Orus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Kayserispor walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
