After a rather tough play, MerzifonSpor's Ali Vedat Talayhan got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Koray Dokuzoğlu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hamdi Satı in the 15th minute. With his leg Koray Dokuzoğlu managed to avoid a goal in the 17thth minute, when ETE SPOR's Hamdi Satı fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The crowd rose to their feet as ETE SPOR's Cankut Zorbey slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Koray Dokuzoğlu. That made the score 1-0 after 19 minutes of play. Ali Vedat Talayhan kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute of the match, Hamdi Satı got a very nice opportunity to score, but Koray Dokuzoğlu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 24th minute, Cankut Zorbey reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Koray Dokuzoğlu. The goal made the score 2-0. Ali Vedat Talayhan hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Koray Dokuzoğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cankut Zorbey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Hamdi Satı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cankut Zorbey received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Koray Dokuzoğlu came out and tried to block the shot, but Cankut Zorbey slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 45th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Peyami Hekimoğlu to make the kick off. Hüsamettin Özel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of ETE SPOR booed when MerzifonSpor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ali Vedat Talayhan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ercüment Özdal was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 69th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Koray Dokuzoğlu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 79th minute Hamdi Satı shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Koray Dokuzoğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cankut Zorbey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 98 minutes, Cankut Zorbey put it in 5-1 from a short distance just to the right of Koray Dokuzoğlu. ETE SPOR walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
