The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Feridun Acabay during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 4 played minutes Kilis got a freekick which was hit by Feridun Acabay. An unexpectedly hard shot by Behzat Zakir in the 5th minute of play forced Kilis's goalkeeper Cafer Başar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kubilay İlhanoğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alemdar Tekmil, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. After a rather tough play, Kilis's Alemdar Tekmil got a free kick in the 8th minute. 11 minutes into the game, Anıl Mücahit Çağkar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kilis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jack Dempsey the free kick. 11 minutes into the game, one of Kilis:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 13 minutes, Jack Dempsey's Göktuğ Acun got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Cafer Başar. Tamer Ruşen might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cafer Başar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tamer Ruşen ran back to his position shaking his head. Kubilay İlhanoğlu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ahmet Ziya Bayar went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Göktuğ Acun's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Cafer Başar on his right side and into the goal. 33 minutes into the game it was 2-1. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Ahmet Ziya Bayar put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Kubilay İlhanoğlu. After having played for 44 minutes, Behzat Zakir managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jack Dempsey's supporters crossed their fingers, but Behzat Zakir was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Behzat Zakir to make the kick off. Feridun Acabay could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Kubilay İlhanoğlu made a huge save. If Alemdar Tekmil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jack Dempsey's Kubilay İlhanoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Ziya Bayar in the 60th minute of play. Alemdar Tekmil got in the 67th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Kubilay İlhanoğlu handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 75th minute of the match, Ahmet Ziya Bayar tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kubilay İlhanoğlu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tamer Ruşen in the 76th minute of play forced Kilis's goalkeeper Cafer Başar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kubilay İlhanoğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Ziya Bayar, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Alemdar Tekmil blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kubilay İlhanoğlu having to make a save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Kilis walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
