The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sebati Okboğa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sebati Okboğa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sinan Durusan in the 23rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yu Yi got free with Hüseyin Rahmi Yazargil in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fahri Hüsrev in the 32nd minute of play forced Kurtuluş SK's goalkeeper Hüseyin Rahmi Yazargil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hüseyin Rahmi Yazargil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fahri Hüsrev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yu Yi's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 37thth minute, Hüseyin Rahmi Yazargil skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 45th minute Fahri Hüsrev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hüseyin Rahmi Yazargil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ferit Ruşen was the one to do the kick off. But to his dismay, Yu Yi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Kurtuluş SK's Hüseyin Rahmi Yazargil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fahri Hüsrev in the 61st minute of play. 63 minutes into the game, Fahri Hüsrev cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Hüseyin Rahmi Yazargil was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 67 minutes into the game, one of Kirecburnu:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Cuma Bozkurt walked up to take care of the penalty kick. Kirecburnu walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
