The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fehmi Tezkan in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kayacan Ortaçgil saved Lacin from getting behind. Fehmi Tezkan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kayacan Ortaçgil read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Olgun Hatmi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kayacan Ortaçgil having to make a save. After 19 played minutes FC Trabzon City got a freekick which was hit by Ahmet Rıfat Eriş. Günay Tufan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gazanfer Özcan Akkılıç having to interfere. Günay Tufan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 32 minutes, Fehmi Tezkan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Trabzon City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fehmi Tezkan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 34th minute, Olgun Hatmi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in FC Trabzon City's zone, Günay Tufan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gazanfer Özcan Akkılıç came out of the goal and Günay Tufan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Günay Tufan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, FC Trabzon City's goal looked a bit too open when Günay Tufan came free, but Gazanfer Özcan Akkılıç reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Günay Tufan scored 0-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gazanfer Özcan Akkılıç, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

After having played for 55 minutes, Fehmi Tezkan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When Fehmi Tezkan came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the FC Trabzon City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fehmi Tezkan couldn't finish the play. Gazanfer Özcan Akkılıç made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Korhan Bilginer in the 70th minute of play. In the 74th minute, FC Trabzon City's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Günay Tufan fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 77 minutes into the match, FC Trabzon City's goalkeeper Gazanfer Özcan Akkılıç had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Günay Tufan. Gazanfer Özcan Akkılıç showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Korhan Bilginer in the 98th minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
