The crowd rose to their feet as Kumkapi's Oğuzkan Oksay slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kılıçhan Hinoğlu. That made the score 1-0 after 31 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gökberk Muhsin in the 39th minute of play forced Kumkapi's goalkeeper Cabbar Mansız to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 40 played minutes Merter FK got a freekick which was hit by Paşa Ali Eryavuz. When Gökberk Muhsin came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Merter FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gökberk Muhsin couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Kumkapi getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Anıl Arda Yılkan hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oğuzkan Oksay stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hakan Gökalp kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oğuzkan Oksay in the 54th minute of play forced Merter FK's goalkeeper Kılıçhan Hinoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 54 minutes, Baykam Tolga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Merter FK and the Kumkapi players grew even worse after the yellow card. A very good chance. 58 minutes into the game, İzzettin Eraksan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kumkapi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merter FK the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 57th minute of the game. One of Kumkapi:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Merter FK:s goal. In the 65th minute, Anıl Arda Yılkan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Göktan Usman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Cabbar Mansız tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Merter FK booed when Kumkapi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tevfik Topçay didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Göktan Usman in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cabbar Mansız prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nazil Nurbay charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nazil Nurbay the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Kumkapi booed when Merter FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nazil Nurbay didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cabbar Mansız made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Göktan Usman sent off a good shot on target. Göktan Usman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cabbar Mansız having to interfere. Gökberk Muhsin came free with the goalkeeper in the 92nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Cabbar Mansız could save by the left post. Göktan Usman took the ball and in the 98 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cabbar Mansız. Cabbar Mansız dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The Merter FK players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
