Diyarbakir's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kasımpaşa SK the free kick. After 19 played minutes Diyarbakir got a freekick which was hit by Servet Ateş. After 25 minutes, Tansu Keykavus mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Diyarbakir and the Kasımpaşa SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 25th match minute, Diyarbakir was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tansu Keykavus to maneuver through the defense. Zeki Salur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teoman Işıldar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Kasımpaşa SK's zone, Teoman Işıldar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zeki Salur came out of the goal and Teoman Işıldar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tansu Keykavus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Teoman Işıldar to strike the kick off in the second half. Zeki Salur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teoman Işıldar, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Zeki Salur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nusrettin Yarkın in the 56th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sinan Taşkınay in the 58th minute of play forced Diyarbakir's goalkeeper Kutlualp Uluhan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Kasımpaşa SK's Mehmet Akif Arıkal got a free kick in the 61st minute. If Nusrettin Yarkın had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. Tuncay Sefaaddin's late challenge caught a Diyarbakir's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teoman Işıldar scored 1-0 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zeki Salur, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 79th minute, Ceyhan Karadeniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diyarbakir's Nusrettin Yarkın got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 83 minutes into the match, Kasımpaşa SK's goal looked a bit too open when Nusrettin Yarkın came free, but Zeki Salur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diyarbakir's Teoman Işıldar managed to work through Kasımpaşa SK's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Teoman Işıldar dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Teoman Işıldar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Diyarbakir's supporters rose to their feet, but Teoman Işıldar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeki Salur breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
