Sabri İbiş sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st match minute, Dernekpazari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sedat Sezer to maneuver through the defense. Yusuf Tümcan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gencalp İklim having to interfere. Bedri Sorgun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sedat Sezer, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After 32 minutes of play, Sivas's Sabri İbiş made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gencalp İklim was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Sivas's zone, Mesut Bayraktaroğlu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bedri Sorgun came out of the goal and Mesut Bayraktaroğlu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ahmet Asım Dalan to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Sedat Sezer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sivas's Bedri Sorgun was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bedri Sorgun made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mesut Bayraktaroğlu in the 55th minute. Gencalp İklim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmet Asım Dalan in the 56th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Sedat Sezer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bedri Sorgun was relentless in the 58th minute of the game.
