After having played for 4 minutes, İskender Tozun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik's supporters crossed their fingers, but İskender Tozun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Şevket Cenap showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from İlbey Okyanus, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Ataman Ulucağ sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 10th minute İskender Tozun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şevket Cenap saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik's zone, Teoman Erçelik stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Işık Tanırcan came out of the goal and Teoman Erçelik tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. İskender Tozun hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the match, Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik's goal looked a bit too open when Sancar Necid came free, but Işık Tanırcan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 27 minutes, Esat Selil mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sarioglan and the Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 27 played minutes Sarioglan got a freekick which was hit by Esat Selil. Sarioglan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik the free kick. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Atabey Baştugay charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Atabey Baştugay the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Işık Tanırcan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from İsmail Hakkı İzzet, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, İsmail Hakkı İzzet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sarioglan's supporters rose to their feet, but İsmail Hakkı İzzet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
