The referee showed Zekeriya Taciroğlu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik booed when Balat was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zekeriya Taciroğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Balat's goalkeeper Bektaş Veli Zülfü, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With 9 minutes on the clock, Atabey Baştugay commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 8 minutes into the game, one of Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 10 minutes, Balat's Berke Sayyad got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Işık Tanırcan. If İlbey Okyanus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 16 minutes, Arif Bilge Başoğlu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Balat and the Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik players grew even worse after the yellow card. Arif Bilge Başoğlu hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. When Aktuğ Orbay came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aktuğ Orbay couldn't finish the play. If Aktuğ Orbay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Turgay Dilsuz got free with Işık Tanırcan in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aktuğ Orbay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bektaş Veli Zülfü having to interfere. Dinç Yayalp kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by İlbey Okyanus in the 30th minute of play forced Balat's goalkeeper Bektaş Veli Zülfü to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zekeriya Taciroğlu kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. 36 minutes into the match, Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik's goal looked a bit too open when Selahaddin Gündüz came free, but Işık Tanırcan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aktuğ Orbay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bektaş Veli Zülfü having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Selahaddin Gündüz was the one to do the kick off. Balat's defense didn't have a chance, in the 51st minute, when İskender Tozun scored to the left of an out of position Bektaş Veli Zülfü, making the score, 1-1. If Selahaddin Gündüz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute Turgay Dilsuz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Işık Tanırcan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. İskender Tozun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bektaş Veli Zülfü having to interfere. İskender Tozun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Balat defense, Aktuğ Orbay kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bektaş Veli Zülfü. The Balat fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bektaş Veli Zülfü should have stopped the shot. İskender Tozun struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Bektaş Veli Zülfü didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik. In the 72nd match minute, Balat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yücel Sarim to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 73 minutes, İskender Tozun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik's supporters crossed their fingers, but İskender Tozun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik's goalkeeper Işık Tanırcan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bektaş Veli Zülfü breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When İskender Tozun came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that İskender Tozun couldn't finish the play. In the 94th minute, Aktuğ Orbay left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik played a much better game than Balat and deserved their victory. The Balat players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
