Ataman Ulucağ sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ataman Ulucağ could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Hakkı Özyurek made a huge save. 6 minutes into the game, Saltuk Ceylan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Işık Tanırcan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 9th match minute, Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by İskender Tozun to maneuver through the defense. When Gencalp Yerhum came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Avcılar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gencalp Yerhum couldn't finish the play. Şeref Hasret fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Işık Tanırcan having to interfere. Aktuğ Orbay struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Hakkı Özyurek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik. Işık Tanırcan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feyyaz Uluberk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Işık Tanırcan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gencalp Yerhum in the 27th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the game, İskender Tozun cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Hakkı Özyurek was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 38th minute, Ataman Ulucağ made a precise shot to the right of Hakkı Özyurek. Avcılar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. If İskender Tozun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aktuğ Orbay stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gencalp Yerhum charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gencalp Yerhum the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik booed when Avcılar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gencalp Yerhum didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ataman Ulucağ in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hakkı Özyurek saved Avcılar from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aktuğ Orbay in the 54th minute of play forced Avcılar's goalkeeper Hakkı Özyurek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Avcılar's Hakkı Özyurek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emre Ergüleç in the 56th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Avcılar's goal looked a bit too open when İskender Tozun came free, but Hakkı Özyurek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Şeref Hasret got free with Işık Tanırcan in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ataman Ulucağ in the 93rd minute of play forced Avcılar's goalkeeper Hakkı Özyurek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sivas Yeni Kale Birlik fans cheered their team off the field, for while Avcılar had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
