After 7 played minutes zerzavat spor got a freekick which was hit by Varol Uluç. In the 9th minute Yavuz Okaner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Turgut Nebi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Girne FK's Turgut Nebi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yavuz Okaner in the 21st minute of play. Yavuz Okaner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Turgut Nebi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Girne FK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Yavuz Okaner scored to the left of an out of position Turgut Nebi, making the score, 2-0. Girne FK's Mehmet Hakkı Sümeroğlu got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Turgut Nebi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yavuz Okaner in the 33rd minute of play. In the 34th minute of the match, Fetih Tengiz got a very nice opportunity to score, but Turgut Nebi was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 35th minute, Yavuz Okaner fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 36 minutes, Mehmet Hakkı Sümeroğlu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Girne FK and the zerzavat spor players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fetih Tengiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Turgut Nebi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, zerzavat spor's Turgut Nebi threw himself towards the right post 41 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Yavuz Okaner, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Yavuz Okaner was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 48th minute. zerzavat spor's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mehmet Hakkı Sümeroğlu to make the kick off. zerzavat spor's Yavuz Okaner got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 55th match minute, Girne FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vefa Şıran to maneuver through the defense. Turgut Nebi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yavuz Okaner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 63 played minutes Girne FK got a freekick which was hit by Vefa Şıran. 65 minutes into the match, Yavuz Okaner had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Turgut Nebi. Girne FK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Yavuz Okaner was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. 71 minutes into the match, Girne FK's goal looked a bit too open when Yavuz Okaner came free, but Turgut Nebi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Yavuz Okaner managed to get in a good position for a shot. zerzavat spor's supporters rose to their feet, but Yavuz Okaner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Turgut Nebi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Yavuz Okaner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. zerzavat spor's defense didn't have a chance, in the 79th minute, when Vefa Şıran scored to the left of an out of position Ahmet İlhan Şafak, making the score, 4-1. Turgut Nebi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fetih Tengiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. When Fetih Tengiz came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the zerzavat spor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fetih Tengiz couldn't finish the play. Yavuz Okaner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Turgut Nebi having to interfere. Turgut Nebi came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by zerzavat spor's Fetih Tengiz. But to his dismay, Fetih Tengiz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Turgut Nebi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yavuz Okaner in the 92nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Girne FK defense, Yavuz Okaner kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Turgut Nebi. The Girne FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Turgut Nebi should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The zerzavat spor fans cheered their team off the field, for while Girne FK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
