Mertak FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Naim Sağlamer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Resulhan Akkan in the 23rd minute of play forced Mertak FK's goalkeeper Oğuzhan Acem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Naim Sağlamer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th minute, Saruhan Şenol made a precise shot to the right of Oğuzhan Acem. Mertak FK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Cihangir Cihansah came out and tried to block the shot, but Naim Sağlamer slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 40th minute. 44 minutes into the game, Arın Pozan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Elmadag's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mertak FK the free kick. The supporters of Mertak FK booed when Elmadag was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arın Pozan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mehmet Hakkı Orun was the one to do the kick off.
