Yasin İlcan's late challenge caught a Baskil's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yasin İlcan helped the player get up and apologised. Yasin İlcan hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Ahmet Bülent Kuter scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Asaf Okyar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 15th minute Baskil were awarded a corner. Önder Enginer went to the cornerflag to take it. Önder Enginer made a great header on Baskil's corner, it was just that Galatasaray's Tuna Özbil managed to reach the ball for a save. 17 minutes into the match, Ahmet Bülent Kuter had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Asaf Okyar. Baskil's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ahmet Bülent Kuter was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Galatasaray's Tuna Özbil proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Galatasaray from getting a goal against them. When Savaşer Sönmezalp, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 24 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Asaf Okyar was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 26 minutes into the match, Baskil's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Bülent Kuter came free, but Asaf Okyar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ahmet Bülent Kuter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eren Dinç fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tuna Özbil having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Önder Enginer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Baskil players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Galatasaray were winning 0-2.

After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Ahmet Bülent Kuter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galatasaray's supporters rose to their feet, but Ahmet Bülent Kuter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Asaf Okyar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ahmet Bülent Kuter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Savaşer Sönmezalp's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Asaf Okyar was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ali Çağrı Işıldar in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tuna Özbil saved Galatasaray from getting behind. Tuna Özbil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ertan Tuğra in the 69th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Galatasaray's zone, Ertan Tuğra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tuna Özbil came out of the goal and Ertan Tuğra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ahmet Bülent Kuter got free in front of the goal in the 75th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Asaf Okyar was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 78 minutes into the match, Galatasaray's Savaşer Sönmezalp sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Asaf Okyar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 80 minutes into the game, Galatasaray's Ahmet Bülent Kuter nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Asaf Okyar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Ahmet Bülent Kuter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Asaf Okyar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Asaf Okyar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Savaşer Sönmezalp, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ertan Tuğra in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tuna Özbil saved Galatasaray from getting behind. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Galatasaray walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
