After 2 minutes, Enes Gencay mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fenerbahçe SK and the Besiri players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fenerbahçe SK's Özgün Çeliktaş got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Kartal Gençoğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Besiri's supporters rose to their feet, but Kartal Gençoğlu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fikret Özerman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Fenerbahçe SK's Enes Gencay got a free kick in the 20th minute. Kartal Gençoğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th match minute, Fenerbahçe SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Battal Tecmil to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the game, Ömer Rıza Akça was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Besiri's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fenerbahçe SK the free kick. Kartal Gençoğlu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Selmi Tuncaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erim Hedef was the one to do the kick off. Erim Hedef struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Karadeniz Kuluk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fenerbahçe SK. Selmi Tuncaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Fikret Özerman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Kartal Gençoğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Besiri booed when Fenerbahçe SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Battal Tecmil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ahmet Nafiz Ülkem hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Fikret Özerman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kartal Gençoğlu in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th match minute, Fenerbahçe SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Özgün Çeliktaş to maneuver through the defense. Besiri's Kartal Gençoğlu got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Besiri walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
