The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 30th minute Galip Özengin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zafer İlyas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Alpay Ağca fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored beşiktaş's protests and gave Alpay Ağca a yellow card for diving instead. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ahmet Orhan Toregün made a kick off. Zafer İlyas came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Salipazari's Galip Özengin. But to his dismay, Galip Özengin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. But to his dismay, Galip Özengin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. A collision led to beşiktaş getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Oğuzalp Kayra hit a great ball. Zafer İlyas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Danış Özdil in the 86th minute of play. Erkan Veysi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Zafer İlyas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zafer İlyas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Galip Özengin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute, Bayındır Mehmet Oncubay ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zafer İlyas was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. beşiktaş's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Salipazari had won, even though beşiktaş had held more of the ball.
