The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hasan Can Erandaç sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. İzzettin Ayalp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Hayri Yörükoğlu in the 16th minute of play. İzzettin Ayalp came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by ARSLANGÜCÜ's Cumali Yavuzcan. But to his dismay, Cumali Yavuzcan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 20th minute, Cumali Yavuzcan made a precise shot to the right of İzzettin Ayalp. Tokat's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The audience was convinced that Ahmet Hayri Yörükoğlu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but İzzettin Ayalp was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Tokat's İzzettin Ayalp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cumali Yavuzcan in the 29th minute of play. Hasan Can Erandaç fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sertel Uraltay having to interfere. Sertel Uraltay stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rüknettin Denizalp's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. İzzettin Ayalp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cumali Yavuzcan in the 36th minute of the match. Rüknettin Denizalp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sertel Uraltay having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anıl Şinasi during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 48th match minute, ARSLANGÜCÜ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anıl Şinasi to maneuver through the defense. In the 49th minute of the match Semi Eronat sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sertel Uraltay skillfully saved the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 61st minute, Dündar İsmail hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd minute of the match Gökçen Özercan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but İzzettin Ayalp skillfully saved the ball. If Rüknettin Denizalp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Rüknettin Denizalp managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tokat's supporters rose to their feet, but Rüknettin Denizalp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sertel Uraltay breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Tokat's Doğa Nazım got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Rüknettin Denizalp managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tokat's supporters rose to their feet, but Rüknettin Denizalp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 94th match minute, ARSLANGÜCÜ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eşref Dirican to maneuver through the defense. In the 98th minute, Cumali Yavuzcan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. İzzettin Ayalp was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Tokat lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
