Abdurrahman Yetişen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Onurhan Akgün, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 15th minute Ahmet Necdet Sungurtekin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şevket Balaman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abdurrahman Yetişen was a little too slow when Erdi Çağlayan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 1-0. 21 minutes into the match, GALATASARAY's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Necdet Sungurtekin came free, but Şevket Balaman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erdi Çağlayan during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Arif Memduh Bahadır managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maltepe FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Arif Memduh Bahadır was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Şevket Balaman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Onurhan Akgün made the kick off in the second half. Onurhan Akgün fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdurrahman Yetişen having to interfere. When Cüneyd Çelikyay fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maltepe FK's protests and gave Cüneyd Çelikyay a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Maltepe FK's Cüneyd Çelikyay got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 77th minute, Arif Memduh Bahadır got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Abdurrahman Yetişen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Onurhan Akgün's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. 84 minutes into the game, Ali Vedat Kartal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Abdurrahman Yetişen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 88th minute, Özgür Ulukaan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Şevket Balaman made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Arif Memduh Bahadır sent off a good shot on target. After 95 played minutes GALATASARAY got a freekick which was hit by Erdi Çağlayan. With a little luck, GALATASARAY's Şevket Balaman got control of the ball when Arif Memduh Bahadır tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle went the supporters of Maltepe FK were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant GALATASARAY side.
