With a little luck, Soma's Mümin Oba got control of the ball when Necdet Onat tried to sneak it across the goal line. Soma's Mümin Oba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Soma from getting a goal against them. In the 25th minute Ali Behzat Refah shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enginsu Temizkan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serkan Tokcan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ali Behzat Refah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Enginsu Temizkan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ali Behzat Refah in the 28th minute of play. Necdet Onat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Enginsu Temizkan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ali Behzat Refah in the 36th minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of GALATASARAY:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Soma:s goal. Enginsu Temizkan had in the 67thth minute some difficulties stopping Karadeniz Arıcan's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball After some careless play in the GALATASARAY defense, Karadeniz Arıcan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Enginsu Temizkan. The GALATASARAY fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Enginsu Temizkan should have stopped the shot. In the 69th match minute, Soma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ergin Mengüalp to maneuver through the defense.
