After 11 minutes of play, Bornova's Gökhan Umur made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Selahaddin Yumlu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Serik's Selahaddin Yumlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gökhan Umur in the 15th minute of play. The supporters of Bornova booed when Serik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vahit Pozan didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Bornova's Gökhan Umur in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Serik's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gökhan Umur in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Selahaddin Yumlu saved Serik from getting behind. A hard shot by Bozkurt Ünsev from long distance, 27 minutes into the match, got Abdi Saygın Özerek's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Gökhan Umur came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Bornova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gökhan Umur couldn't finish the play. In the 30th minute Gökhan Umur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Selahaddin Yumlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Bornova's Hilbert Grevsby got a free kick in the 31st minute. Yıldıray Kayaalp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdulaziz Uruk in the 36th minute of play forced Bornova's goalkeeper Abdi Saygın Özerek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th match minute, Serik was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vahit Pozan to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gökhan Umur in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Selahaddin Yumlu saved Serik from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Serik's Bozkurt Ünsev got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After 43 played minutes, Bornova's Mustafa Ali Türek shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Selahaddin Yumlu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bornova reached it. 46 minutes into the match, Bornova's goal looked a bit too open when Abdulaziz Uruk came free, but Abdi Saygın Özerek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gökhan Umur stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Serik's Selahaddin Yumlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gökhan Umur in the 54th minute of play. Gökhan Umur's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, Selahaddin Yumlu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 56 played minutes Serik got a freekick which was hit by Vahit Pozan. Selahaddin Yumlu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gökhan Umur's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Abdi Saygın Özerek didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abdulaziz Uruk went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Abdi Saygın Özerek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdulaziz Uruk in the 67th minute of play. Onisim Olabe hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. A collision led to Serik getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Abdulaziz Uruk hit a great ball. Bornova's Gökhan Umur got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Serik's Yıldıray Kayaalp suffered a sprained foot after 79 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 81st minute there was a penalty for Serik. Mesut Lokman stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Abdi Saygın Özerek. 2-1. With a little luck, Serik's Selahaddin Yumlu got control of the ball when Gökhan Umur tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Bornova getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Nebi İzgü hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gökhan Umur in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Selahaddin Yumlu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 94 minutes, Abdulaziz Uruk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Serik's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdulaziz Uruk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vahit Pozan's late challenge caught a Bornova's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vahit Pozan helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Serik's Vahit Pozan got a free kick in the 96th minute.
