The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rubu. After a defensive mix-up in Rubu's zone, Hakkı Satuk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erdoğan Akartuna came out of the goal and Hakkı Satuk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Fazıl Hüsnü Haneci's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Erdoğan Akartuna was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Haldun Biçimli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erdoğan Akartuna read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ataman Erginer made a kick off. Fazıl Hüsnü Hanecis short, quick shot in the 60thth minute got Erdoğan Akartuna to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
