Hakkı Bakkalbaşıoğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ali Nejat Çakmur in the 7th minute of play. 11 minutes into the game, Boztepe's Mustafa Orhan Kutkan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hakkı Bakkalbaşıoğlu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Boztepe's Gürol Sağan got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, Gülsuyu SK's goal looked a bit too open when Ali Nejat Çakmur came free, but Hakkı Bakkalbaşıoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The crowd rose to their feet as Boztepe's Gürol Sağan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hakkı Bakkalbaşıoğlu. That made the score 0-5 after 52 minutes of play. 55 minutes into the game, Korcan Sabuncu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gülsuyu SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boztepe the free kick. The supporters of Boztepe booed when Gülsuyu SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Korcan Sabuncu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute, Gülsuyu SK's Altay Durucan seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Altay Durucan the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Gülsuyu SK protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Altay Durucan had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a rather tough play, Gülsuyu SK's Altay Durucan got a free kick in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gürol Sağan in the 95th minute of play forced Gülsuyu SK's goalkeeper Hakkı Bakkalbaşıoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute Halil Utku Yalkı shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hakkı Bakkalbaşıoğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boztepe played a much better game than Gülsuyu SK and deserved their victory. The Gülsuyu SK players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
