In the 5th minute, Muharrem Türev sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and KIRKLARELİ SK's Mehmet Emin Saffet didn't even have to move. 9 minutes into the match, Safirspor's goal looked a bit too open when Zülfü Özalpsan came free, but Kunter Toktuğ reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ergincan Okanalp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Safirspor's zone, Ergincan Okanalp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kunter Toktuğ came out of the goal and Ergincan Okanalp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th minute, Zülfü Özalpsan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arif Gaffar Selmi during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Arif Gaffar Selmi hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Safirspor's Kunter Toktuğ played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zülfü Özalpsan in the 34th minute of play. Zülfü Özalpsan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After having played for 59 minutes, Zülfü Özalpsan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KIRKLARELİ SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zülfü Özalpsan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Zülfü Özalpsan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kunter Toktuğ. That made the score 0-3 in the 71 minute of play. Arda Baybars Masum could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Kunter Toktuğ made a huge save. After some careless play in the Safirspor defense, Necat Akpınar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kunter Toktuğ. The Safirspor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kunter Toktuğ should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Safirspor booed when KIRKLARELİ SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arda Baybars Masum didn't get a good kick on the ball. KIRKLARELİ SK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
