With an extended leg and a bit of luck Timur Aktar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 24 minutes into the match, Beşiktaş JK's goalkeeper Fedai Baş had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hakan Kutlughan. Şentürk Tekinel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Beşiktaş JK's zone, Hakan Kutlughan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fedai Baş came out of the goal and Hakan Kutlughan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Servet Cingöz hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hakan Kutlughan got free with Fedai Baş in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Timur Aktar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Atalay Sabi, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Timur Aktar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faik Muhittin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alsancak FK's Timur Aktar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Muhammet Refi in the 46th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Beşiktaş JK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hakan Kutlughan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Beşiktaş JK's Fedai Baş played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Şentürk Tekinel in the 69th minute of play. A collision led to Beşiktaş JK getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Servet Cingöz hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Şentürk Tekinel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alsancak FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Şentürk Tekinel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fedai Baş breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Beşiktaş JK's Çağatay İpekdal got a free kick in the 87th minute. Hakan Kutlughan might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fedai Baş. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hakan Kutlughan ran back to his position shaking his head. 92 minutes into the match, Beşiktaş JK's goal looked a bit too open when Hakan Kutlughan came free, but Fedai Baş reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 96 minutes into the match, Alsancak FK's Şentürk Tekinel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fedai Baş narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
