Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Hüsamettin Rızkullah made the kick off and thus started the match. Mustafa Cumhur Gazel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aykutalp Tatu in the 3rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, GALATASARAY's Cankut Sadi got a free kick in the 4th minute. Hüsamettin Rızkullah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 8 minutes into the game, Merih Otaç was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GALATASARAY's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Beşiktaş the free kick. A collision led to GALATASARAY getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Merih Otaç hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 10 minutes, Kahraman Tura successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Selçuk Samet lost his temper 12 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 12 minutes into the game, one of Beşiktaş:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Yunus Unan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hüsamettin Rızkullah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Mustafa Cumhur Gazel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kahraman Tura made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Orçun Soysal sent off a good shot on target. In the 28th match minute, GALATASARAY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cankut Sadi to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, GALATASARAY's Merih Otaç got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 38th minute, Merih Otaç hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hüsamettin Rızkullah in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mustafa Cumhur Gazel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aykutalp Tatu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hüsamettin Rızkullah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mustafa Cumhur Gazel having to interfere. Beşiktaş's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Yunus Unan 45 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The audience was convinced that Hüsamettin Rızkullah's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mustafa Cumhur Gazel was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hüsamettin Rızkullah in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mustafa Cumhur Gazel saved GALATASARAY from getting behind. 73 minutes into the match, Beşiktaş's goal looked a bit too open when Orçun Soysal came free, but Kahraman Tura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kahraman Tura took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yunus Unan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute, Yunus Unan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kahraman Tura was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 3-1 became the score in the 89th minute when Yunus Unan elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Kahraman Tura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orçun Soysal, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Many of Beşiktaş's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Beşiktaş may have spent more time on the ball, but GALATASARAY were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
