The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes in the game Muhittin Erdönmez did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Cankut Uma. Ahmet Hafiz Akçan might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eşref Canıtez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ahmet Hafiz Akçan ran back to his position shaking his head. Songurbey Camcıoğlu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Muharrem İlkan in the 8th minute of the match. Eşref Canıtez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kamber Ilıca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute, Muharrem İlkan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kamber Ilıca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. ANTALYA SK's Eşref Canıtez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save ANTALYA SK from getting a goal against them. Ahmet Hafiz Akçan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Eşref Canıtez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ahmet Hafiz Akçan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eşref Canıtez having to make a save. In the 50th match minute, Gölköy Fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Çetin Adılhan to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Kamber Ilıca made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Akil Sertaç left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ANTALYA SK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in ANTALYA SK's zone, Kamber Ilıca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eşref Canıtez came out of the goal and Kamber Ilıca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind ANTALYA SK's goalkeeper Eşref Canıtez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 71st minute José Luis Sierra suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Akil Sertaç charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Akil Sertaç the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Muhittin Erdönmez made in the 75th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Cankut Uma however managed to control. Babür Şıran took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Songurbey Camcıoğlu. Songurbey Camcıoğlu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Babür Şıran in the 84th minute of play forced Gölköy Fc's goalkeeper Songurbey Camcıoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of ANTALYA SK booed when Gölköy Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Çetin Adılhan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gölköy Fc's Songurbey Camcıoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Babür Şıran in the 88th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Gölköy Fc's goalkeeper Songurbey Camcıoğlu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tanju Uzsan. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tanju Uzsan got free with Songurbey Camcıoğlu in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Songurbey Camcıoğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Babür Şıran in the 100th minute of play. The ANTALYA SK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ANTALYA SK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
