Ahmet Kutsi Tezeren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zekai Hiçsönmez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. When Karagümrük FK's Ahmet Kutsi Tezeren in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 23 played minutes IstanBulls FC got a freekick which was hit by Tuncay İlter. Zekai Hiçsönmez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kuzey Turalp in the 24th minute of the match. Zekai Hiçsönmez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Şimşek Pala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Kuzey Turalp managed to get in a good position for a shot. Karagümrük FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Kuzey Turalp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zekai Hiçsönmez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in IstanBulls FC's zone, Şimşek Pala stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zekai Hiçsönmez came out of the goal and Şimşek Pala tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Ahmet Kutsi Tezeren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zekai Hiçsönmez was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. In the 37th minute, Şimşek Pala got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Orbay Ahmetoğlu hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 40 minutes into the match, IstanBulls FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Kutsi Tezeren came free, but Zekai Hiçsönmez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 52nd minute, Ahmet Kutsi Tezeren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Şimşek Pala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Zekai Hiçsönmez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Şimşek Pala got free with Zekai Hiçsönmez in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 60th minute, Kuzey Turalp ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zekai Hiçsönmez was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Zekai Hiçsönmez stood somewhat misplaced when Şimşek Pala came free in front of goal and shot 0-2 to the left of him in the 65 minute. If Şimşek Pala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, Şimşek Pala left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Karagümrük FK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Ahmet Kutsi Tezeren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zekai Hiçsönmez having to interfere. IstanBulls FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when Kuzey Turalp scored to the left of an out of position Zekai Hiçsönmez, making the score, 0-4. When Karagümrük FK's Kuzey Turalp in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. IstanBulls FC's Zekai Hiçsönmez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kuzey Turalp in the 91st minute of play. If Kuzey Turalp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Şimşek Pala could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Zekai Hiçsönmez made a huge save.
