If Tayfur Tecik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Asım Arif Tongal charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Asım Arif Tongal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to NOVAFENERBAHÇE SK getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Asım Arif Tongal hit a great ball. After 30 played minutes İskenderunGücü got a freekick which was hit by Güral Bakkalbaşı. NOVAFENERBAHÇE SK's Mustafa Namık Yağmurdereli quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Muzaffer İshak, made in the 35th minute of the game. Elmu Velling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without İzzet Ergönül having to interfere. Güral Bakkalbaşı hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, İskenderunGücü's Bumin Asker got a free kick in the 41st minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After having played for 53 minutes, Bayındır Mehmet Yönet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. İskenderunGücü's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bayındır Mehmet Yönet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Berker Tunçsoy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leif Runberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in İskenderunGücü's zone, Elmu Velling stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. İzzet Ergönül came out of the goal and Elmu Velling tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 58 minutes into the match, İskenderunGücü's Berker Tunçsoy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leif Runberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berker Tunçsoy in the 62nd minute of play forced NOVAFENERBAHÇE SK's goalkeeper Leif Runberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of NOVAFENERBAHÇE SK booed when İskenderunGücü was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarkan Keskiner didn't get a good kick on the ball.
