Seyfullah Akçiçek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bayındır Mehmet Oytunç, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. When César Batista fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GALATASARAY's protests and gave César Batista a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to GALATASARAY getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. César Batista hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bayındır Mehmet Oytunç in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Seyfullah Akçiçek saved GALATASARAY from getting behind. Ove Ovechkin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Seyfullah Akçiçek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Israel Ortle in the 29th minute of play forced Fikret Orman FK's goalkeeper Temel Pehlivan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Fikret Orman FK's Karhan Akdağ got a free kick in the 30th minute. Seyfullah Akçiçek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ove Ovechkin in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Israel Ortle dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Temel Pehlivan, 1-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
