In the 11th match minute, Fenerbahçe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ahmet İlhan Hiçyılmaz to maneuver through the defense. Mehmet Bilge Yetkiner was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 15th minute. In the 33rd minute of the match Savaş Özercan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aktuğ Sezgin skillfully saved the ball. 37 minutes into the game, Mehmet Akif Tapgaç cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Aktuğ Sezgin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cemal Bintuğ ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Korkutalp Ertaş in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aktuğ Sezgin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Harun Ünal kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Korkutalp Ertaş in the 66th minute of play forced Fenerbahçe's goalkeeper Aktuğ Sezgin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fenerbahçe's Aktuğ Sezgin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Korkutalp Ertaş in the 69th minute of play. During the 73rd minute of the match Ahmet İlhan Hiçyılmaz completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ahmet İlhan Hiçyılmaz a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game.
