Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Battal Gazi Olgunay to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 86 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Battal Gazi Olgunay sped through Tarabya's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ahmet Yahya Kayra. Sacit İmren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Okaner Taran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kocaelispor were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
