After a defensive mix-up in Bayat's zone, Devlet Karan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bahattin Oğuzman came out of the goal and Devlet Karan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Bayat's Bahattin Oğuzman got control of the ball when Devlet Karan tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Kunter Suel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. Mehmet Bilge Özkent showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kunter Suel, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Bahattin Tecimer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Devlet Karan to make the kick off. Bahattin Oğuzman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
