The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alp Kırdar charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alp Kırdar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Esme booed when Sahrayicedit was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alp Kırdar didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th match minute, Sahrayicedit was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by İlbey Masuk to maneuver through the defense. Atilla Tarkan Doğanay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gökçe Işıklar having to interfere. Esme's İstemihan Atikoğlu got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gökçe Işıklar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vural Özkul in the 29th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, İstemihan Atikoğlu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Göktürk Umuralp, 1-1. Vural Özkul sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vural Özkul to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Sahrayicedit's Vural Özkul got a free kick in the 51st minute. Balaban Tunçtürk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Göktürk Umuralp having to interfere. Balaban Tunçtürk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 67 minutes, Vural Özkul managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sahrayicedit's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vural Özkul was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Atilla Tarkan Doğanay came free with the goalkeeper in the 70th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gökçe Işıklar could save by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Sahrayicedit's zone, İstemihan Atikoğlu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Göktürk Umuralp came out of the goal and İstemihan Atikoğlu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Göktürk Umuralp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from İstemihan Atikoğlu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atilla Tarkan Doğanay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gökçe Işıklar having to interfere. If Balaban Tunçtürk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vural Özkul was shown his second yellow card after 87 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 88th minute, Vural Özkul hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the match, Esme's İstemihan Atikoğlu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Göktürk Umuralp narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Esme's Bumin Hatırlı got a free kick in the 94th minute. The Sahrayicedit supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sahrayicedit would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
