After a defensive mix-up in Geyikspor's zone, Halit Oksay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ahmet Ziya Ülgen came out of the goal and Halit Oksay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yahya Vechi hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. When Halit Oksay came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Turkish Academy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Halit Oksay couldn't finish the play. After 18 minutes, Gencal Yalaz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Turkish Academy and the Geyikspor players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Turkish Academy's Gencal Yalaz got a free kick in the 18th minute. When Efekan Ufki fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Turkish Academy's protests and gave Efekan Ufki a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Turkish Academy getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Halit Oksay in the 30th minute of play forced Geyikspor's goalkeeper Ahmet Ziya Ülgen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ahmet Ziya Ülgen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gencal Yalaz in the 31st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Halit Oksay in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ahmet Ziya Ülgen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 35th minute, Deniz Esendağ hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ahmet Ziya Ülgen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Halit Oksay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, Halit Oksay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Halit Oksay was the one to do the kick off. Gencal Yalaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Ahmet Ziya Ülgen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Turkish Academy's Halit Oksay slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ahmet Ziya Ülgen. That made the score 0-3 after 60 minutes of play. Gencal Yalaz might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ahmet Ziya Ülgen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gencal Yalaz ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Halit Oksay in the 64th minute of play forced Geyikspor's goalkeeper Ahmet Ziya Ülgen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Halit Oksay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gencal Yalaz might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ahmet Ziya Ülgen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cavit Karacan was extremely unlucky when he, in the 75th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Yahya Vechi was shown his second yellow card after 81 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match.
