An unexpectedly hard shot by Kutluay Özgenc in the 9th minute of play forced Venezia's goalkeeper Yavuz Selimhan Akalın to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Venezia's goal looked a bit too open when Kemal Onkal came free, but Yavuz Selimhan Akalın reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yavuz Selimhan Akalın showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tugay Yalman, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Aycan İnan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tuğrul Varol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute, Kemal Onkal made a precise shot to the right of Yavuz Selimhan Akalın. Venezia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Aycan İnan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tuğrul Varol went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet as MALTEPE UTD's Kutluay Özgenc slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Yavuz Selimhan Akalın. That made the score 2-1 after 32 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kutluay Özgenc in the 41st minute of play forced Venezia's goalkeeper Yavuz Selimhan Akalın to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mehmet Anıl Sadak's late challenge caught a Venezia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mehmet Anıl Sadak helped the player get up and apologised. Mehmet Anıl Sadak kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Okan Akasoy to strike the kick off in the second half. Aycan İnan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arcan Turgut in the 53rd minute. Venezia's Yavuz Selimhan Akalın played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kemal Onkal in the 56th minute of play. Venezia were furious when Zühtü Hafızoğlu was red carded, 60 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Tugay Yalman placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! When Kemal Onkal came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the MALTEPE UTD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kemal Onkal couldn't finish the play. In the 84th minute, Alkın İnanç made a precise shot to the right of Yavuz Selimhan Akalın. Venezia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. In the 88th minute Alkın İnanç shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yavuz Selimhan Akalın saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Kemal Onkal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Venezia's Yavuz Selimhan Akalın played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kemal Onkal in the 91st minute of play. Alkın İnanç sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Venezia defense, Kutluay Özgenc kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yavuz Selimhan Akalın. The Venezia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yavuz Selimhan Akalın should have stopped the shot. When the referee ended the match the MALTEPE UTD players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
