The supporters of Ivrindi booed when Galatasaray was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aydın Kural didn't get a good kick on the ball. 4 minutes into the match, Ivrindi's goalkeeper Aysan Neşat had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kılıçhan Akansel. After a defensive mix-up in Galatasaray's zone, Lefter Ekincioğlu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ümit Baysoy came out of the goal and Lefter Ekincioğlu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ivrindi's Alkan Küdüs managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ömür Yasık in the 10 minute of the game. Ümit Baysoy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mehmet Akif Kalender, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After 19 played minutes Ivrindi got a freekick which was hit by Mehmet Akif Kalender. Ömür Yasık succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 23rd playminute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yusuf Ziya Taş got free with Aysan Neşat in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aysan Neşat made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kılıçhan Akansel in the 27th minute. Mehmet Akif Kalender sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Lefter Ekincioğlu fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ivrindi's protests and gave Lefter Ekincioğlu a yellow card for diving instead. Lefter Ekincioğlu kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After 39 played minutes Galatasaray got a freekick which was hit by Fuat Oğuzkan. Aydın Kural fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aysan Neşat having to interfere. If Kılıçhan Akansel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kılıçhan Akansel made a kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Aydın Kural managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galatasaray's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aydın Kural was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aytek Toprak lost his temper 60 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Ivrindi:s Aysan Neşat showed great skill when he stopped Kılıçhan Akansel:s penalty. Aysan Neşat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kılıçhan Akansel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Galatasaray's Aydın Kural got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aysan Neşat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kılıçhan Akansel in the 82nd minute of play. When Yusuf Ziya Taş came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Galatasaray fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yusuf Ziya Taş couldn't finish the play. If Kılıçhan Akansel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aysan Neşat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kılıçhan Akansel, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Ivrindi's Mehmet Akif Kalender got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Songurhan Hatemoğlu during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Aydın Kural sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 96 minutes into the match, Galatasaray's Yusuf Ziya Taş sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aysan Neşat narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Galatasaray had won after a very even match.
