After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Kılıçhan Akansel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galatasaray's supporters rose to their feet, but Kılıçhan Akansel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Deniz Yağızkurt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Galatasaray's Ömür Yasık got a free kick in the 39th minute. Ümit Baysoy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hulki Zakir in the 43rd minute of the match.
