In the 24th minute, Mesut Gençlik SK's Gökmen Tanbey ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Muhittin Bilgetay. Muhittin Bilgetay yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. If Ediz Erez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute, Ediz Erez reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Muhittin Bilgetay. The goal made the score 3-1. Muhittin Bilgetay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aybar Nevsal in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute Semavi Taşcıoğlu suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Adem Atamanov fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tümerspor FK's protests and gave Adem Atamanov a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Tümerspor FK getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Adem Atamanov hit a great ball. After having played for 46 minutes, Ediz Erez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mesut Gençlik SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ediz Erez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hakkı Özdurdu came free with the goalkeeper in the 48th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Muhittin Bilgetay could save by the left post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gökmen Tanbey was the one to do the kick off. Muhittin Bilgetay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gökmen Tanbey, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After 55 played minutes Mesut Gençlik SK got a freekick which was hit by Hakkı Özdurdu. 58 minutes into the game, José Nuñez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2.
