When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Ricardo Stenshøj took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Gürcan Tanrıverdi to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of KAZAN FC booed when Sapanca FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hakan Karabasov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ahmet Korkut Sarduç kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Nicolas Anelka had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gürcan Tanrıverdi. KAZAN FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nicolas Anelka was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Hakan Karabasov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Reese Barclay stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alişan Çelikhan's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Gürcan Tanrıverdi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Anelka in the 33rd minute of play. In the 34th match minute, KAZAN FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ahmet Korkut Sarduç to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th match minute, KAZAN FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serter Secaat to maneuver through the defense. After 42 played minutes, Sapanca FK's Ricardo Stenshøj shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gürcan Tanrıverdi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sapanca FK reached it. Gürcan Tanrıverdi made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Nicolas Anelka sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, KAZAN FC's Gürcan Tanrıverdi got control of the ball when Nicolas Anelka tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Ahmet Korkut Sarduç received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Reese Barclay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Ricardo Stenshøj left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sapanca FK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Gürcan Tanrıverdi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hakan Karabasov in the 63rd minute of play. In the 71st minute, Uluç Onursu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. KAZAN FC's Gürcan Tanrıverdi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hakan Karabasov in the 74th minute of play. Nicolas Anelka recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gürcan Tanrıverdi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hakan Karabasov, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 91st match minute, Sapanca FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Stenshøj to maneuver through the defense. Hakan Karabasov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
