The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Melikgazi's goal looked a bit too open when Şener Melih came free, but Seyit Yiğithan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 4 minutes into the match, YoungCanary's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Turan Tumbay came free, but Tansel İdrisoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, YoungCanary's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Turan Tumbay came free, but Tansel İdrisoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Hakkı Devrim Pekdemir fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored YoungCanary's protests and gave Hakkı Devrim Pekdemir a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Melikgazi booed when YoungCanary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hakkı Devrim Pekdemir didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ahmet Turan Tumbay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tansel İdrisoğlu having to interfere. YoungCanary's İlhan Çağili got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, YoungCanary's Giray Çetinsoy got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Melikgazi's Seyit Yiğithan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mustafa İzzet Soysaldı in the 29th minute of play. After 30 minutes Melikgazi's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Şener Melih who took care of the corner kick. In the 32nd minute, Şener Melih made a precise shot to the right of Seyit Yiğithan. Melikgazi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by İsmail Namal during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Melikgazi getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. İsmail Namal hit a great ball. Seyit Yiğithan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from İlhan Çağili, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. If Cankut Okbaş had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, YoungCanary's Tansel İdrisoğlu got control of the ball when Fadıl Avcı tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tansel İdrisoğlu came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Melikgazi's Fadıl Avcı. But to his dismay, Fadıl Avcı quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fadıl Avcı to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute, Orhun Yarlık hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Melikgazi's Seyit Yiğithan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Şener Melih in the 61st minute of play. İlhan Çağili recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Şener Melih in the 83rd minute of play forced Melikgazi's goalkeeper Seyit Yiğithan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute, İlhan Çağili left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The YoungCanary fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Tansel İdrisoğlu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmet Turan Tumbay in the 89th minute of the match. Melikgazi were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after YoungCanary's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Orhun Yarlık took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Ahmet Turan Tumbay heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Seyit Yiğithan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Şener Melih, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. When Orhun Yarlık fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Melikgazi's protests and gave Orhun Yarlık a yellow card for diving instead. When the referee ended the match the Melikgazi players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
