Francesco Taglieri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 5th minute Luís Eduardo Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Asım Arif Şimşektürk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Karacasu booed when Van was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamdi Özdener didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute, Luís Eduardo Cabral made a precise shot to the right of Asım Arif Şimşektürk. Van's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Van's zone, Luís Eduardo Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Asım Arif Şimşektürk came out of the goal and Luís Eduardo Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Karacasu's Dimcho Devenski got control of the ball when Başaran Mahşer tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Van's zone, Luís Eduardo Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Asım Arif Şimşektürk came out of the goal and Luís Eduardo Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 19 minutes into the game, Karacasu's Luís Eduardo Cabral nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Asım Arif Şimşektürk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Asım Arif Şimşektürk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francesco Taglieri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francesco Taglieri in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Asım Arif Şimşektürk saved Van from getting behind. Karacasu's Luís Eduardo Cabral got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 28 played minutes Van got a freekick which was hit by Başaran Mahşer. After some careless play in the Van defense, Mazhar Mutluay kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Asım Arif Şimşektürk. The Van fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Asım Arif Şimşektürk should have stopped the shot. If Francesco Taglieri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 39 minutes into the match, Van's goal looked a bit too open when Alemdar Uzman came free, but Asım Arif Şimşektürk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Van's Asım Arif Şimşektürk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alemdar Uzman in the 40th minute of play. Başaran Mahşer hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute Luís Eduardo Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Asım Arif Şimşektürk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Asım Arif Şimşektürk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Eduardo Cabral in the 46th minute of play. The Van players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Karacasu were winning 0-3.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hilmi Ayyıldız stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Francesco Taglieri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karacasu's Luís Eduardo Cabral got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 58 minutes into the game, Francesco Taglieri recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Asım Arif Şimşektürk. Francesco Taglieri showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. In the 61st minute, Luís Eduardo Cabral ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Asım Arif Şimşektürk was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. After 64 played minutes Karacasu got a freekick which was hit by Luís Eduardo Cabral. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Karacasu's Francesco Taglieri in the 70th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Asım Arif Şimşektürk was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Van through an amazing save. 74 minutes into the match, Francesco Taglieri dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Asım Arif Şimşektürk, 0-6. 79 minutes into the match, Francesco Taglieri notched a goal, 0-7, to the right of Van's Asım Arif Şimşektürk. Asım Arif Şimşektürk was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Francesco Taglieri struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Asım Arif Şimşektürk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Karacasu. In the 84thth minute of the game Erland Haaland who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Van's Asım Arif Şimşektürk was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Erland Haaland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute, Luís Eduardo Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Karacasu's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
